Ultimately, we will deliver a finished product an end user will consume and love for many generations.

About Us

Society of Friends Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded with a mission to uplift and empower youth in the community of Mount Vernon, NY. Established as a positive alternative to street violence, Society of Friends uses music, film, and the arts as powerful tools for personal growth, self-expression, and community healing.

Operating under the broader umbrella of Bedroc Entertainment—home to hitmakers and collaborators such as Mary J. Blige, K-Ci & JoJo, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Melba Moore, Jeff Redd, Atlantic Starr, and Capella Grey—Society of Friends represents the organization’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of creators.

One of our most impactful initiatives, The Four Square Peace Project, brought together inner-city youth to write, produce, and engineer a full-length compilation album sharing their real-life experiences, hopes, struggles, and dreams. The project culminated in the release of original music on iTunes and a powerful music video for the song Pray for My City, available on YouTube. The project was led by multi-platinum producer Reggie Huggins, whose mentorship has left a lasting imprint on the lives of participating youth.

Looking ahead, Society of Friends is launching Spectrum Arts Academy—a comprehensive, multidisciplinary arts and technology program offering education in music, film, dance, photography, graphic design, computer science, and robotics for learners of all ages. This academy represents our next step in building sustainable pathways to success, creativity, and opportunity for the young people we serve.

Your support can help us expand access to these transformative programs and continue creating spaces where youth are seen, heard, and empowered.
